Clinical technologist

Clinical technologists perform more complex laboratory tests and procedures than technicians. They also supervise technicians, confirm their tests and manage laboratory quality control programs.

Most clinical laboratory specialists work in hospitals, but they are also employed by private practices, medical groups, research laboratories, pharmaceutical companies, and universities.

Average Salary:

$20,000 - $28,000 (Clinical laboratory technicians)

$25,000 - $40,000 (Clinical technologists)

Educational Requirements:

Students should take the most challenging high school courses in, science, math and English.

An associate’s degree in the field or completion of a specialized in-house training program is required to become a clinical laboratory technician.

               

A bachelor's degree in the field is normally required to become a clinical technologist, however some employers accept an associate's degree and extensive clinical experience as a substitute.  Many technologists pursue additional graduate education or specialized training to advance their careers in clinical chemistry, blood banking, and microbiology.

Clinical Laboratory Specialists

Duties and Responsibilities:

Clinical Laboratory Specialists include both Clinical Laboratory Technicians and Clinical Technologists. These professions are also referred to as medical laboratory Technicians or Medical technologists.

Both Technicians and technologists perform laboratory work to identify, diagnose, and treat diseases.

Clinical laboratory technicians use microscopes, laboratory equipment, chemicals and computers to perform laboratory procedures. They also collect blood specimens and prepare culture media. They conduct tests and prepare reports for clinical technologists or physicians.

                        

Chiropractor (Part 2)

Educational Requirements:

Students who want to become chiropractors should take challenging high science, math and English courses. Chiropractors must complete a ten semester program in a chiropractic college after completing two years of college or junior college study. Most states require that chiropractors pass a certification examination before being granted a license to practice.

4 football players from William Paterson University went shopping at a store. They noticed that the store clerk was not at the counter and no one was around but them. The obvious assumption was that they would begin to steal items from the store, however, to our surprise they actually buy the items they take, leaving the money for it on the counter. This goes to show that there are still good, honest people in this world choosing the right. I was actually amazed that some people would do such a thing. With age comes maturity and responsibility.

Chiropractor

                                       

Duties and Responsibilities:

Chiropractors treat patients by manually adjusting parts of the human body, especially the spine.  Chiropractors and their patients believe that problems with bone and nerve alignment can cause illness and problems in other parts of the body, a view not widely accepted by allopathic physicians and other traditional medical practitioners.

Chiropractors manipulate their patients' spinal columns for treatment.  They may prescribe specific diets or exercises, but not drugs.  Chiropractors cannot perform surgery.

Most chiropractors establish a private practice and some provide home treatments.  Others form group partnerships in clinics or chiropractic hospitals.

Biomedical Equipment Technician

Duties and Responsibilities:

Biomedical equipment   technicians inspect, Maintain, and repair different types of medical equipment used to diagnose and treat disease .They perform safety checks and train Practitioners to safely operate equipment. Biomedical equipment technology has been one of the fastest growing medical career fields in recent years.

Average Salary: $20,000-$38,000

Educational Requirements:

Students should take challenging science, math, and electronics courses in high school. Following high school, Biomedical Equipment Technicians complete one of the third year of course work in Biomedical Equipment Technology, Medical-Electronics, or Biomedical- Engineering. Most programs lead to certificate and/or associate degrees. Some employers will hire electronics technicians and provide on-the-job biomedical technology training.

                         

Biomedical Engineer

Educational Requirements:

Students should take the most challenging science, math, and English courses available in high school.

All biomedical engineers have at least a bachelor's degree in engineering.  Many have advanced graduate degrees as well.  Courses of study include a sound background in mechanical, chemical, or industrial engineering, and specialized biomedical training.  Most programs last from four to six years, and all states require biomedical engineers to pass examinations and be licensed.

Frequently, biomedical engineers supervise, investigate medical equipment failure, and advise hospitals and installing new equipment.

Audiologist

Duties and Responsibilities:

Audiologists work with patients who have hearing disorders. They may work in hospitals or clinics, private practice, schools or universities, nursing homes, industry, or research laboratories. They perform examination, tests, and evaluations as well as provide treatment. Audiologists often:
